Flexography has been the fastest growing print process in the packaging industry in recent decades.
‘Flexo’ offers commercial benefits that have become increasingly important as the reproduction capabilities and quality of the process have increased dramatically.

Lennox McKinlay can tailor digital artwork to suit any print process, but the skills and understanding required for flexo are the most demanding. These form a particular area of our expertise and are backed up by significant production technology and capacity.

Key flexographic elements
- Digital or conventional plate production - YOU choose
- Colour management and proofing tailored to flexo standards
- Comprehensive sets of press compensation strategies
- Extensive comparative database of plate types and performance
- Film and plate densitometry checks to ISO9002
- Large format (1.2m x 2m) rapid plate production lines

Flexography
is a very major element in our production and our expertise is second to none.
However, we generate prepress for all other print processes. As is often remarked 'if you can do flexo, you can do everything'

Flexo is the process with which printers are most likely to require an extra level of management, care and support. Although flexo does offer significant commercial benefits, it does not readily offer the stability that most other print processes do.
Lennox McKinlay, with a very high percentage of employees that have direct work experience on flexo printers’ factory floors, are in a position to methodically marry repro and plates to any press specification for optimal performance and press stability.

Many major suppliers of packaging rely on Lennox McKinlay for much more than just the timely production of artwork and plates.
We have often been used to sort out our competitors’ work where printers have been supplied with troublesome repro and/or plates. Our ability to assess a press’s performance, as well as the issues with any particular job, is second to none and we pride ourselves on our attention to detail.

   Support

Because we operate at every stage of the packaging origination and print process, we can see the bigger picture all the way throughout a project. But we do not need to know every detail of a packaging project in order to offer our assistance.

Lennox McKinlay offer important support in these areas
- General asset management strategies and solutions
- Managing artwork at a distance in a virtual world
- Best print and pack format consultancy
- Systematic press performance assessment and fingerprinting
- Factory floor optimisation procedures
- Flexographic plate selection for optimum results

Even where we have not been involved in the creative stages of a job we can still be instrumental in solving technical issues
